We witnessed AICC standards implemented for tracking compliance and reporting.
Then AICC was replaced by SCORM. After SCORM came SCORM 1.2. SCORM 1.2 was eventually superseded by SCORM 2004.
Our world and its learning environment is now mobile. A new environment demands a new standard. Tin Can/Experience API, designed specifically to facilitate mobile learning, will be the standard that works with SCORM. It may even one day replace it. Any enabled activity can send Tin Can/Experience API statement.
Tin Can/Experience API can be used to report any activity, not just learning activity.
